Bobby Bowden is starting his book promotion with a bang. The recently retired FSU coach is telling anyone who will listen that he was forced to retire last year and that his relationship with the athletic director is essentially over. Several years ago Wetherell (AD) said Bowden had a "lifetime contract" and Bowden expected him to honor it. I hated to see old Bowden go, but it was probably time.
The drunk, naked, trespassing, blocking lineman from Oregon state has my vote for the funniest suspension of the year. It was one thing to be drunk, passed out somewhere you don't belong, but to get in the three point stance and charge the cops? That story is amazingly hilarious.
Preseason "camp" is over for a lot of teams. Time to start preparing for the opening game.
I am really worried about Clemson's depth at linebacker, with Scotty Cooper having to retire suddenly. Whats going on with this? Didn't Stanley Hunter have to retire suddenly as well?
I missed some of the radio story this morning, but Cobb Oxford apparently went to the Anderson Gamecock club meeting last night. None of this is certain, but he said he got from it that Stephen Garcia wasn't thought to be very bright and that SC had a chance to have one of their best defenses ever. I regretfully missed most of the story.
Wow, I just read one of the few free articles I can read on Gamecock Central. It was a blog about Weslye Saunders. What a selfish dude. Oh well, most of them are. Hes definitely a Massingill.
