Anticipation

Football season is less than two weeks away and I am anxious to see what progress teams have made. As always, I am interested in a lot of teams but I am going to post about the two teams I watch the closest.

Going into the North Texas game, I am curious to see how Clemson moves the ball. I for one would like to see drives. I know that inferior teams give up a ton of huge plays to the opponent, but I want to see if Clemson's offensive line can push through a weaker opponent. I also would like to see if any of the recievers step up and give KP a go-to guy. I am going to post on my opinion of Parker soon, so I will leave that for the next couple of days.

Defensively, I want to see if the linebacking corps is going to be a weakness. I just don't think they will be a strength this year. If they can play solid, Clemson's defensive line is dominant and the secondary is talented. Simply put, I want to see if this is a cohesive unit...potentially dominant as the season goes along.

The biggest question to answer for South Carolina, in my mind is how well they will play against a team they should handle easily. I have watched many games where they just couldn't pull away from a team like this until the very end. I have no doubt their defense is solid, and will give up minimal points. But can their offense finally gel and not only that, will they perform consistantly? I don't know what to make of this team and Thursday night will go a long way in my overall view.

I have opinions about both teams, but I am not going to give out season record predictions or first game scores until.....next Wednesday or Thursday maybe?

To be a true Clemson fan, I will not be upset if the Gamecocks lose. I respect their team and follow them pretty close, but I can't just simply pull for them.

More coming soon...
