From what I have read, you are onto something. Connor Shaw will play some against Southern Miss. With that being said, I think it says more about Stephen Garcia than it does Connor Shaw. I think Shaw is probable the future. But in no SEC coaches dreams would he want to put a true freshman against those ravenous defenses unless he had no alternative. By that I mean either injuries or hes that much more talented than the guys around him. Garcia is talented. He is getting out played and it is his own fault.
Thats not to say he won't come out and perform this year. He may surprise. But I agree with you that Shaw is good enough, and more importantly, focused enough to push Garcia for that job all year long. Spurrier isn't blowing smoke this time. We will see what he knows Thursday.
